A Delightful Stay....

It was the June school holidays again! I was once again bitten by the travel bug which prompted me to "pester" DH to go for a short break up north. For this trip, we had decided to go to Kuantan with stop overs at KL and Melaka.

It was a mad rush once again. I had 2 weeks before we left to prepare the itinerary, source for food places, settle the accommodations, pack our bags etc...I wasn't the type who is good at making last minute planning. Instead, I much prefer to handle things one at a time when it comes to planning for a trip. I believe that having more time will allow me to find out more about a destination, accommodations and the food options. However, since we have been to Malaysia so many times especially KL, the short time I had to plan was not so stressful but I did have to keep late nights in a stretch in order to firm up the travel plans.

We stayed in KL for 2 nights before going to Kuantan. For the KL leg, we stayed in Somerset Ampang, a newly opened service apartment located in Jalan Ampang where most of the embassies and High Commissions are located. We had originally requested for a 2 bedroom apartment but upon checking in, we were told that they had run out of 2 bedroom apartments! They offered to upgrade us to a 3 bedroom apartment instead, with no additional charges. Most people will jump with joy, I guess but not me. I wanted the 2 bedroom apartment as we can see KLCC from the bedroom and I read that the view is stunning. On the other hand, the 3 bedroom apartment will not have such a view:( Honestly I was not very enthusiastic about the offer but it turned out to be better for us. For us to sleep comfortably, we do need the extra room in the end!

We went "Wow" the minute we stepped in our apartment on the 19th floor. The decor is very modern with luxurious furnishings and a fully equipped kitchen that comes with a washer cum dryer. There are 2 toilets, both are spacious and the one in the master bedroom has a nice view too!

The room with 2 single beds. The room is rather small though...The picture below is of course the kitchen. It comes with my dream oven but too bad, I didn't have a chance to use it at all! Next up will be our accommodation in Bukit Gambang Resort City....
